A firewall is the first line of defence for a corporate network, keeping unwanted traffic out but allowing all business-related traffic in and out. Firewalls are controlled using complex sets of rules to determine what traffic is allowed and prohibited, and a firewall administrator is responsible for making sure these rules are defined and managed correctly.
