Description: Head of Product Engineering Scotland (Hybrid) - £70,000 - £80,000
A high-impact role leading the Software Engineering function for an exciting space-tech client.
We are seeking somebody with many years in people management, technology leadership, with a product-focused engineering mindset to provide direction and oversee delivery of ground-breaking software.
You ll be joining a fantastic team of talented, knowledgeable software engineer, product designers, and various other technical experts, ensuring a unity of purpose and alignment of vision. As a natural leader with a flair for building rapport, motivating teams, innovating across product development, and setting clear processes and structures, you will flourish in taking forward this organisation into an exciting new future.

  • Providing technical and team leadership across software product development and delivery

  • Using your experience to build, develop, and inspire engineering teams

  • Define best practice, carry out code reviews, and contribute to architectural/design conversations

  • Work with other leaders to decide technology adoption, tooling, and technology roadmaps

  • Act as an ambassador, flying the flag for this organisation with regular client and customer engagements

You will bring:
  • Years of previous experience leading teams, progressing from a hands-on engineer into a true technology leader

  • Expertise in software product architecture distributed systems, embedded, complexity

  • Good knowledge of Agile methods

  • An appreciation of software engineering languages (C, C++, Java, Python)

  • Strong presentational and communication skills
