About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Head of IT or Senior IT Manager to lead our IT function, ensuring our technology infrastructure supports business growth and operational excellence.

Industry Experience:
While we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, experience in service-driven sectors with elements of transport, logistics, or production would be highly advantageous. Relevant industries may include (but are not limited to):

  • Warehousing & distribution
  • Couriers & haulage
  • Food production & waste management
  • Facilities management & cleaning services
  • Recycling, construction, quarrying, or plant hire

Key Responsibilities:
IT Leadership: Oversee IT operations, ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of hardware, software, and systems.
Supplier & Partner Management: Work with key technology providers (e.g., Microsoft Gold Partners, Sage, and Sage Partners) to uphold service levels.
Project Management: Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and business alignment.
Strategic Innovation: Identify and present new technology solutions to enhance business performance.
Hands-On Support: Be prepared to assist with key IT tasks, including site installations when required.
Stakeholder Communication: Present IT strategy and project updates to the board, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Incident Resolution: Ensure IT issues are promptly addressed, escalated appropriately, and effectively communicated.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage IT teams, drive projects, and implement IT strategies.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Enterprise Systems: Office 365, Sage, CRM & ERP systems
  • Database Management: MS SQL, T-SQL, SSRS
  • Infrastructure & Security: VMware, cybersecurity (firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
  • Networking & Devices: Laptops, Android phones/tablets, traditional telephony systems
