We're Hiring a General Manager Join Us to Bridge the Digital Divide!

Position: General Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)
Type: Full-Time

B4SH (Broadband for Surrey Hills) is on a mission to transform connectivity in rural areas. As a community-driven initiative, we deliver high-speed broadband Internet connectivity to underserved areas, empowering residents and businesses alike.

The Role:
As the General Manager, you ll lead our operations, marketing, and community engagement efforts, working with our board and key partners to expand our reach. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference while driving the growth of a values-driven organisation.

What You ll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to expand our network, with support from B4RN (Broadband for the Rural North).
  • Marketing & Sales: Create and execute a marketing plan to drive awareness and attract new customers.
  • Operations Management: Oversee network installation, maintenance, and customer service with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Community Engagement: Build trusting relationships with communities and promote the benefits of our services.
  • Financial Management: Monitor budgets, manage resources, and seek funding opportunities to support growth.
  • Partnership Development: Collaborate with stakeholders, councils, and industry partners to foster sustainable growth.

What We re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience, ideally in telecoms, tech, or community-based projects.
  • Strong marketing and sales expertise.
  • Solid operational and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a passion for community engagement.
  • Knowledge of rural broadband challenges is a bonus.
