We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Azure Solution Architect to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-level Azure cloud architectures. The ideal candidate will excel in infrastructure as code (IAC), modern DevSecOps practices, and enterprise-scale deployments while adhering to controls-compliant processes. The role requires expertise in designing secure, cost-effective, scalable, and operable solutions, with a strong focus on Terraform and Azure-native tools for automation, validation, and deployment.
Location: Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in Wokingham
Salary: Market Rate OR Day Rate: Inside IR35 - Market Rate Key Responsibilities Solution Design and Delivery - Design and document Azure-specific solution architectures that align with business needs, including:
- Security and compliance best practices
- Cost-effectiveness, availability, and scalability
- Observability and operational excellence
- Develop and deliver cloud solution architectures ensuring control-compliant processes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation - Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions, focusing on Terraform within the Azure ecosystem.
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure using pipelines and automation techniques.
- Lead infrastructure automation and validation activities.
DevSecOps and GitOps Practices - Design and implement GitOps workflows for infrastructure management.
- Ensure solutions align with modern DevSecOps practices.
Integration and Support - Integrate Azure infrastructure with peripheral services, such as:
- Authentication and authorization services (e.g., Azure Active Directory)
- Logging and monitoring tools
- Provide technical support to colleagues and service consumers.
Documentation and Technical Authoring - Author and maintain technical documentation, including:
- User guides
- Tutorials
- Design and architectural artifacts
General Requirements All candidates must be knowledgeable and experienced in: - Delivery within highly regulated environments with controls-compliant solutions.
- Modern DevSecOps ways of working for secure, automated software and infrastructure delivery.
- Software delivery best practices with a focus on observability, version control, and automation.
Key Skills and Expertise - Azure Solution Architecture (Design, Documentation, and Implementation).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC in Azure.
- Infrastructure deployment and management via Pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of:
- VM Infrastructure
- Container Infrastructure (AKS, Docker)
- Networking aspects (NSGs, VNets, Load Balancers, Firewalls, etc.)
- Authentication and Authorization (Azure AD, RBAC, IAM policies).
- GitOps design and implementation.
- Expertise in integrating services such as identification, logging, and monitoring solutions.
Qualifications - Azure Solution Architect certification
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in Terraform, pipelines, and automation.
- Proven experience in highly regulated, enterprise environments.
