We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineer to join a dynamic and growing IT team, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. Based at our Client s Head Office in Eastleigh, this role is critical in ensuring the security, availability, and performance of cloud infrastructure, while driving innovation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in leveraging Azure s advanced features, integrating cybersecurity best practices, and collaborating across departments to deliver robust and compliant cloud solutions. Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage accounts, and High Availability services.
- Implement Azure security features such as Azure Security Centre, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Key Vault to ensure robust protection of cloud environments.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk mitigation strategies to maintain compliance with standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams to integrate security into DevOps processes and ensure best practices are followed.
- Continuously enhance cloud solutions by staying updated with the latest Azure innovations and cybersecurity trends.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams, ensuring effective adoption and utilisation of Azure services.
Skills & Experience Required: - Demonstrable experience in cybersecurity and cloud engineering, with a proven track record of working with Microsoft Azure services and security features.
- Strong understanding of Azure core services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, and Databases, as well as Azure networking concepts, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as XDR, NDR, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions, particularly Azure Sentinel.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or Azure CLI.
- Knowledge of virtual networks, load balancers, VPN gateways, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Azure data lake, Azure IoT Hub, and API tooling is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CSSP, or CISSP.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
