Our Sheffield-based financial services client is seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: - Administer MFT Infrastructure: Handle installation, upgrades, and maintenance of file transmission systems and related applications.
- Partner Onboarding & Demising: Collaborate on integrating and retiring partners.
- Performance Management: Monitor health, tune performance, and troubleshoot systems (L2/L3 support).
- Incident Management: Lead resolution of complex incidents, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Identify and address operational, audit, and compliance risks.
- Crisis Response: Participate in service recovery, major incident reviews (MIRs), and service improvement plans (SIPs).
- Knowledge Sharing: Document processes, conduct training, and mentor team members.
- Innovation: Promote process improvements, automation, and emerging technology adoption.
- Enterprise Focus: Deliver sustainable, robust, and disaster-resilient solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience: - Proficiency in IBM Sterling File Gateway, Connect:Direct (Unix/Windows), and related tools (e.g., Secure Proxy, External Authentication Server).
- Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (sFTP, AS2, FTPS, HTTPS) and data security practices (SSL/TLS, SSH, PGP/GPG).
- Demonstrable experience in application support, health monitoring, and performance management.
- Ability to identify and resolve vulnerabilities in collaboration with infrastructure teams or vendors.
- Experience with service management frameworks (Change, Incident, Problem) and Agile methodologies.
- Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue prevention.
- IT literacy across operating systems, networking, security, RDBMS, cloud technologies, and scripting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Flexible to work in rotating shifts and provide out-of-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certifications in IBM or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
