12 month contract- likely to be ongoing for the right person!

We're looking for an innovative Manufacturing Software Engineer to help with a transformation project, modernizing and improving operations for a client in Shrewsbury that specializes in the manufacturing of engines and engine components and is one of the largest highway companies in the world!

A key part of the role is integrating Power BI with the MRP system for creating interactive, real-time dashboards. You will design these dashboards to provide real-time insights and reporting that can be used by leadership to make informed decisions.

What will you do?

  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing a new Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
  • A key part of the role is integrating the MRP system with Power BI. You ll design these dashboards to provide real-time insights and reporting that can be used by leadership to make informed decisions
  • Currently, the company relies on manual, spreadsheet-based workflows. Your job will involve replacing these labour-intensive processes with automated systems, making operations more efficient, accurate and data-driven
  • You ll work closely with different departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and IT, to ensure the integration of the new MRP system and reporting tools are seamless and effective

What skills and experience would you need?

  • Expertise in Power BI, EAP, QAD and MRP systems (essential)
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and structured methodologies
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working with software and system integration
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team
