Description:

MLC Partners are working with a South East based NHS Trust to support with the recruitment of an interim Head of ICT Services . This is a key leadership role within the ICT department, responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all critical ICT systems that support frontline and back-office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of technical specialists responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all ICT infrastructure, including:
    • Server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
    • Network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
    • Telephony systems
    • Service Desk
    • Data centre operations
    • Security operations (including threat detection and response)
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of all critical ICT systems, including those supporting patient care, clinical systems, and operational management.
  • Develop and implement service improvement plans to enhance the quality, efficiency, and resilience of ICT services.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to ICT service availability and security.
  • Work closely with clinical and operational teams to understand their ICT needs and ensure that services are aligned with business requirements.
  • Manage ICT service budgets and ensure value for money.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, clinical staff, and external suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including data protection and information security standards.

Experience:

  • Holds ITIL v3 Expert or ITIL v4 Master certification - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of working with cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience of implementing and managing ITIL service management processes
  • Experience working within an NHS organisation or private healthcare
