Are you passionate about digital transformation and IT innovation? We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Category Manager to join our team and lead the digital / IT category. In this role, you will play a critical role in leading the procurement and contract management efforts for IT related goods and services within Great British Nuclear. Leveraging extensive knowledge of procurement best practices and strategic problem-solving skills, you will optimize cost, quality, and delivery for essential IT related goods and services. This role will encompass key aspects of contract mobilisation and management, contributing to a reliable and sustainable supply chain for nuclear projects. Day to day duties: - Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for Digital and IT that align with GBN's overall goals and objectives.
- Identify emerging technologies and market trends that can benefit GBN.
- Conduct thorough market research to evaluate potential suppliers, pricing structures, and innovative solutions.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, finance, and operations teams, to understand their needs and ensure that procurement strategies effectively support their objectives.
- Take ownership of category management initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the Digital and IT categories.
- Track and analyse the performance of digital and IT categories against established KPIs.
- Lead cross-functional projects related to digital and IT procurement, ensuring timely and successful execution while managing risks and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and present regular reports on category performance, insights, and recommendations to senior management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: - Demonstrated experience in category management, with the ability to develop IT category strategies based on data-driven methodologies and market engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a quick learning ability to address procurement and contract management challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and professional engagement with suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiar with procurement software tools and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to strategise, plan and manage commercial outcomes, including sourcing and contract management, to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Commercial knowledge and experience across the full commercial lifecycle, with public sector procurement experience being beneficial.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or demonstrable experience.
- Ideally MCIPS qualified or actively working towards the qualification, is preferrable but not a necessity.
