We are looking for a Project Security Officer for a 12 Month contract based in Bristolon behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs. Purpose of the Role: We require a Project Security Officer to assist an established security delivery team to deliver secure operations for a programme of work. We are looking for individuals who have past experience as a Project Security Officer to work with the Cyber Tower Lead and wider team to ensure that mandated processes, policies are followed to ensure the secure operation of the overall programme. The role will require communicating with various stakeholders so good verbal, presentation, and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to explain security issues to non-security audiences. As a Project Security Officer you will be responsible for: - Assisting project teams with understanding and complying to MoD regulation and Security Good Practices.
- Assisting programme PMO with project Joiner Mover Leaver activities, including the management of end user devices and access to programme network shares.
- Working with programme PMO to facilitate onboarding activities including induction/offboarding briefings describing security responsibilities, obligations for users.
- Drafting and developing Security Process and Procedures that ensure compliance whilst enabling effective working methods.
- Conducting and/or organising security audits/assessments to test project adherence to policies and procedures.
- Providing support and guidance to the project teams for security related activities eg ensuring that information and data assets are appropriately redacted, protectively marked and their distribution managed accordingly and ensuring that specific security policies and rules are understood and observed.
- Conducting security briefings to ensure that a culture of security awareness is maintained, and that staff understand their roles and responsibilities in respect of security.
What we require from the candidate: - Ideal candidate would hold Active SC Clearance.
- Knowledge of DEFCON 658 Cyber Flowdown, DEFSTAN 05-138 Defence Cyber Protection Partnership.
- Understanding of Security Aspects Letters (SAL) and their application.
- Understanding of ISO 27001/ISO27002.
- Past experience of developing and presenting security awareness, briefings, along with exit briefings for personnel leaving the programme.
- Knowledge of defence standards, contract requirements including Secure by Design assurance processes.
- Ability to manage significant ambiguity, ie when contractual requirements change, or things are yet ratified to make reasonable assumptions to then allow a course of action to be chosen.
