DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We want a Lead technical Architect to join a flourishing, supportive tech community delivering one of the largest digital transformations in Europe.

We're building on recent successes like bringing our IT in-house, introducing elements such as automation and self-service to our digital services, and accelerating the adoption of public cloud.

DWP is the UK's largest government department, responsible for helping people into work and making payments worth over £195 billion a year to support some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

You'll play a crucial role in transforming public services used by nearly every person in the UK at key moments in their lives. The scale of our work is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We would love for you to join us.

Delivery. Work. Projects.

In this role you'll work with our Specialist Devices team, who deliver the right specialist devices and services used by DWP colleagues.

In Specialist Devices, we have responsibility for macOS and the physical and virtual environments and solutions for our 3,000 Engineering users.

You will also have a remit to look at emerging alternative device solutions for particular use cases which provides the team with a varied and interesting workload, often at the forefront of new technology and adoption in DWP.

You will lead on the design, build, and running of products, developing and testing solutions, as we re-engineer our entire engineering environment.

We want to put the right devices in the right hands, so that our people can deliver great service to DWP customers. You'll be the architectural lead for the replacement of approximately 8,500 customer-facing devices used in Jobcentres, ensuring accessibility, ease of use, and data security.

We've got ambitious plans for changing and improving the basic technology underpinning customer computers. We want to radically change the platform and improve the experience of our internal user base. And we will be creating a data-centred capability to support Digital Workspaces service improvement.

It's big, complex stuff, which will transform how DWP works, for us and for our customers. We need you to help us get it right.
