What's the role about?

As a Systems Engineer within the Technology Operations Run team, you will work to support and leverage value from their existing line of business systems, services, and infrastructure, along with supporting the more tactical demands of the Customer Service Desk in a second or third-line support capacity.

You'll be partnering with business owners, product managers and project managers to advise how best to utilise existing systems and working alongside colleagues in the Change team to ensure the seamless transition of stable platforms and services into the live environment.

Essentials skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Proven experience in a networking/IT environment and an excellent understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Experience in monitoring/configuring/maintaining networking infrastructure (in particular Aruba, Cisco, Linksys)
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining documentation relating to network configuration and network mapping processes
  • Experience of supporting and maintaining systems in a Microsoft Client Server environment. You will have sound knowledge of MS operating systems and the assorted services that a typical domain uses (DNS, Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, DHCP, Group Policy etc)
  • Knowledge of incident, problem and change management and continuous improvement in an ITIL environment
  • Experience of supporting, administering, and maintaining systems within Azure and Microsoft 365 stack (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Azure AD etc).
  • Experience of supporting business applications (Finance, HR, CRM etc.)
  • Ability to contribute to the development of a knowledge base and document best practices as well as being able to communicate effectively with our user base.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience of integration technologies (ETL, automation, Flow, PowerApps, LogicApps, Abinitio, FileTrain)
  • Experience of reporting technologies (PowerBI, SSRS) and/or MS SQL
  • Experience with Azure SaaS and PaaS technologies (App Insights, Infrastructure Insights, Azure Governance)
  • Experience of infrastructure technologies (VMWare, vSphere, HPE Nimble, Arcserve UDP, Citrix, SUSE Linux experience would be a bonus)
  • Experience of working on projects, either leading small deliveries or as part of a larger team.
  • Experience of monitoring systems and applications, setting measures and managing performance.
  • Experience with different VOIP systems (Teams Calling, Avaya)
