Description: | We have an exciting opportunity available for a Systems Administrator (Linux and Security) to join one of the world s leading research Institutes at a crucial time in its evolution, and play a definitive role in shaping it for the future. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary starting from £50,000 with benefits, subject to skills and experience. Much of our research is both data- and compute-intensive and relies on advanced Scientific Computing systems, services, and skills. The Systems Administrator (Linux and Security) role: This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world s leading research Institutes and be part of the ITO team responsible for design, implementation and operation of all IT which manages the running of the institute. In this role you will work with Infrastructure and Security Operations Centre (SOC) team members to deploy, configure, patch and secure our Linux systems across our vSphere and Public Cloud estate. You will also deliver infrastructure for projects across different ITO teams using version-controlled Infrastructure as Code and Automation tools. The successful candidate will also execute and help shape security policy, projects and operations.
