Description: | Project Quality Engineer - Software As a Project Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring the quality and reliability of software and research projects from conception through to deployment, to assure statutory, regulatory and customer requirements and maintained throughout the life of the project. You will work alongside our customers to solve their complex and unique challenges. The Project Quality Engineer role involves a comprehensive approach to quality assurance, including: - Developing Project Quality plans with a focus on capturing customer requirements and deploying processes to achieve them. - Performing audits. - Preparing performance reports. - Assuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and national standards. - Conducting quality inspections of software projects. - Maintaining quality documentation. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Planning: Develop and implement quality assurance strategies and processes tailored to software development projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer requirements. Review and adapt Roke quality standards, procedures, and specifications for relevance to different programmes, developing specific variants where necessary. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders. Supervise external vendors and suppliers to ensure programme quality standards are met. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve quality assurance processes, tools, and techniques. Implement best practices in quality engineering and lean methodologies. Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all plans and processes meet statutory, regulatory, and other national or international standards. Compliance and Standards: Guarantee compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain required quality documentation, including the development of management plans. Conduct internal audits, advising of required corrective actions and tracking to closure. Validation of testing programs: Perform quality audits, inspections as necessary to assure the project processes are capable of meeting customer requirements and deliverables. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key quality metrics, preparing performance reports for relevant stakeholders. The Key Requirements Minimum of 3 years in a Project quality engineering role, with specific experience in managing quality within software development projects. (Ideally with a Defence or National Security background, or highly regulated sector). Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality assurance methodologies, tools, Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills for making data-driven decisions Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving quality issues Certifications: Certifications such as CSQE, CQIA, or Agile certifications are beneficial.
