The Typhoon Airframe Design Team: An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join the BAE Systems Typhoon Airframe Design Team as a Senior Design Engineer Team Lead, working on the ongoing development and build of the Typhoon combat aircraft product, developing your design skills and capabilities whilst working in an agile and collaborative business environment. As a Senior Design Engineer Team Lead you will have broad design experience with the ability to flex between the different design disciplines of Electrical, Circuits and Mechanical Design, although it is accepted that candidates may have strengths biased towards a particular one. You will lead a team producing the physical product definition to satisfy a set of multidisciplinary system functional requirements, taking account of safety, cost, manufacturing, in-service support and other considerations. Your engineering capabilities will already be developed across a range of design skills and product lifecycle stages, working predominately in a model-based engineering environment centred on CAD. An understanding of, and implementing of Design Procedures, Standards and Specifications is essential. The role is based at Samlesbury, but the successful candidate will also be required to travel to customer locations within the UK as well as internationally when required. Why BAE Systems?
