Technical Design Authority / Architect - Data / Packet Core

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Design/Architect with to join the Data Services team for one of our high profile telecoms clients. The role will be accountable for the design, performance, and lifecycle management of 3G, 4G, and 5G Standalone (SA) network elements and architectures within the Data Core domain.

Your expertise will drive core network solutions, working closely with key stakeholders across Strategy and Architecture, as well as Delivery and Operations teams, to deliver a high-performing network that meets the evolving needs of our business and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Lifecycle Management: Own the design, performance, and lifecycle of 3G, 4G, and 5GSA elements within the Data Core domain, ensuring alignment with the business and technical objectives.
• Technical Roadmap: Collaborate with Technical Design Authorities to create and prioritize an 18-month technical roadmap for Data Core initiatives, driving network innovation and evolution.
• Partner Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key partners, ensuring technical performance and capacity align with both current and future business requirements.
• Project Delivery: Oversee the delivery of projects within your domain, working with project management and third-party vendors to ensure solutions meet contractual obligations and deadlines.
• Technical Support & Governance: Provide expert technical support to internal teams and suppliers, guiding solution architecture and ensuring design aligns with strategic goals and business outcomes.
• Fault Investigation & Maintenance: Collaborate with Operations teams to troubleshoot issues and maintain robust, reliable network and Telco Cloud infrastructure.

Experience Needed

• Significant hands-on experience and expertise with 3G, 4G, and 5GSA network architecture, including a deep understanding of relevant standards, technologies, regulations, and frameworks.
• Excellent working knowledge of 3G, LTE & 5GSA data networks on an end to end basis.
• Good understanding of Cloud deployments and onboarding of Data Core
• Experience of 3GPP standards specifically round the EPC core domains
• Good understanding of VMware Tanzu, Openstack. Openshift & Kubernetes implementations
