Description: Network Consultant (DV Cleared) - Major Technology Transition Programme

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Consultant with active DV clearance to join our team for a major technology transition initiative. This is a contract role anticipated to last up to 2 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Consulting:
    • Provide expert consulting services on network design, implementation, and optimization.
    • Conduct network assessments and identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop network strategies and roadmaps to align with business objectives.
  • Technology Transition:
    • Assist in planning and executing network migrations and upgrades.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with the transition.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
    • Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential problems.
    • Provide technical support to end-users.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Advise on network security best practices and compliance requirements.
    • Assist in implementing security measures to protect network infrastructure.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active DV Clearance: Essential.
  • Cisco expert
  • CCNP or CCIE certifications essential
  • Strong Technical Skills:
    • Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
    • Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
    • Knowledge of network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime)
    • Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python)
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and identify root causes.
    • Strong analytical skills to evaluate network performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI)
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure)
