Description:

Our client is looking to fill the bove role with someone with Wireless Telecoms Design experience. Must have previous Wireless Design experience and have a background with External Tower placements and Antenna cells.

They are also looking for Wireless telecoms surveyors so previous experience in surveying would essential.

MSV (Multi Site Visit) Wireless Telecoms QC/Design Engineer

Summary:

We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled MSV Wireless Telecoms QC/Design Engineer to join our expanding team. This multifaceted role combines expertise in MSV surveying and design review, ensuring mobile network deployments comply with UK regulations and meet client expectations.

Responsibilities:

MSV Surveys and Quality Control:

Conduct comprehensive Multi Skilled Visit (MSV) surveys for new and existing mobile network infrastructure, including base stations, masts, and antennas, in line with industry best practice as and when required.

Utilise industry-standard equipment such as the FieldSense 2.0 or equivalent to measure electric and magnetic field strength at designated locations.

Analyse MSV survey data to ensure compliance with the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016 (CEMFR 2016).

  • Prepare clear, concise, and professional MSV reports documenting survey findings, methodologies, and compliance assessments.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies between design specifications and actual site conditions during surveys.

Design Review and Quality Control:

Review mobile network infrastructure designs created by the internal design team, ensuring they adhere to client specifications, industry best practices, and relevant UK regulations (e.g., Building Regulations, Town and Country Planning Act).

Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for design improvements to optimise performance, minimise costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with design engineers to address any identified design issues and achieve optimal solutions.

Technical Expertise:

Possess a strong understanding of mobile network technologies, including cellular frequencies, antenna types, and radiation propagation principles.

Stay up-to-date with advancements in MSV surveying methodologies, mobile network design principles, and UK regulations related to mobile network infrastructure deployments.

Site Coordination and Liaison:

Liaise with network operators, site owners, and relevant authorities to assist the Project manager in scheduling and coordinating MSV surveys.

Ensure adherence to all necessary health and safety protocols during site visits.

Ensure all requirements by Local Authorities that may attend site are complied with and all needs are met.

Certification:

Hold a valid City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Non-Ionising Radiation Protection for Work (QCF) or equivalent qualification.

Possess a relevant engineering qualification (e.g., BEng in Telecommunications Engineering) or demonstrably equivalent experience.

Maintain all required certifications for safe working practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of 3 years' experience conducting MSV surveys for mobile network infrastructure.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in mobile network design or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years experience working with BT PIA infrastructure and strong understanding of Backhaul and Meet me points.

Proven ability to operate and interpret data from industry-standard MSV field measurement equipment.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Full UK driving licence.
