They are currently recruiting for 2 Installation and Commissioning engineers to join their existing team. Previous experience preferred and possibly on Dslam.

The work is to install and commission NOKIA kit in street cabinets and BT exchanges.

They would need to be DC power trained. Electrically qualified to minimum C&G 236.

They will be completing the installation of NOKIA OLT

  • (optical line terminal. acts as the endpoint hardware device in a passive optical network for telecommunications companies. The OLT contains a central processing unit, passive optical network cards, a gateway router, and voice gateway uplink cards.

Installation of OTDR

  • (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer. a precision instrument used to test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks:
  • An OTDR injects pulses of light into a fiber optic cable and measures how much light is scattered or reflected back. The OTDR then uses the returning light to characterize the fiber, including its length, faults, and splice loss.
  • OTDRs are used to ensure the integrity of fiber optic networks by testing components like connection points, bends, and splices. They can also be used to create a "picture" of a newly installed fiber optic cable

Swap out inverter and install batteries

  • Telecom inverter is a kind of device which alternate 220V power frequency current into the voltage regulator output electric voltage,

Swap out outbound management for the NOKIA variant in the cabinet.
