COMPANY

A Managed Service Provider (MSP) looking to add to their Public Sector Business Development Team with a Business Development Manager to find new business using relevant platforms, assist in BIDS and sell solutions into the public sector.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth within the Public Sector by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and writing compelling bids and proposals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand our market presence within the public sector.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and market research.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the public sector, including government agencies, educational institutions, and healthcare organisations.
  • Lead the end-to-end bid management process, including proposal writing, bid strategy development, and contract negotiation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and technical departments, to ensure alignment and successful execution of sales strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and government regulations affecting the public sector IT market.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales, preferably within the IT managed services industry and public sector.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, including experience with writing and winning bids and tenders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a passion for driving growth and exceeding targets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
