Test Engineer - 3 days on site in Leeds Rate: 350 - 400 in scope / umbrella Location: Leeds + Remote - 3 days per week on site Duration: 6 months
As a Test Engineer, you will report into the QA Test Manager and be responsible for defining and conducting manual (functional, integration, regression and UAT tests) and automated tests, adhering to standards and procedures to validate the suitability of the software in test. Collaboration within cross-functional teams alongside software developers and project teams is essential, contributing to the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and reports on both functional and non-functional requirements in a blend of agile and waterfall environments. Dealing with a variety of stakeholders, internal and external, stakeholder management is also a key part of this role and needs someone with very strong stakeholder management skills. Due to the small size of the QA Team, you will need to be comfortable working on your own initiative with minimal supervision. - Responsible for defining and conducting manual (functional, integration, regression and UAT tests) and automated tests, adhering to standards and procedures to validate the suitability of the software in test.
- Responsible for defining, creating and building an automation framework from scratch across front end and back-end systems, embedding and expanding the test pack over the coming months.
- Contributing to the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and reports on both functional and non-functional requirements in a blend of agile and waterfall environments
- Supporting business stakeholders in UAT, which will include supporting with scope definition, definition of test scripts and data requirements, followed by hands on support and involvement during UAT execution
- Working with external delivery partners on multiple projects
- Participating in and contributing to Agile ceremonies
- Compile bug reports and offer constructive feedback to software development teams
- Creation of Test Plans and Test Exit reports where needed
- Provide UAT support to business colleagues and participate in UAT testing
Essential Knowledge
- Expert level of understanding of all test phases across the SDLC and the application of them
- Experience of using testing tools such as Azure DevOps (Test Plans), Jira, ALM to capture testing artifacts and results
- Ability to influence stakeholders and technical resources to assist them in delivering business outcomes
- Experience in UI testing, database testing and API testing experience, ideally using Postman
- Experience in Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
- Experience in Automation of front and back-end systems and apps (design, build, execute and maintain)
- Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall deliveries, with hands-on experience of participating in and contributing to Agile ceremonies
Desirable Knowledge
- Any knowledge of MS Azure, MS Dynamics 365, 4th Generation Banking platforms and Workday configuration
- Knowledge and understanding of business processes associated with financial service organisations, ideally in Corporate Banking
- Experience coding in Python
- Experience of Selenium Web Driver.
