Senior IT Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: 40,000 + We are a leading company based in Nottingham, known for providing exceptional IT services and support to a diverse range of clients and internal teams. They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Technician to join their team and play a key role in managing and maintaining their IT infrastructure, providing support, and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across the company or client base.
Lead and manage IT projects, including installations, upgrades, and system migrations.
Monitor and maintain IT systems, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
Troubleshoot complex IT issues and ensure prompt resolution to minimise downtime.
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring security, backups, and patching are up to date.
Support users with day-to-day IT queries, both remotely and on-site, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
Mentor and support junior IT technicians, providing guidance and sharing technical knowledge.
Ensure IT security protocols are followed and implemented, including antivirus, firewalls, and VPNs. Skills & Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Technician or IT Support role.
Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and security best practices.
Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with network configuration, including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and switches.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to IT support.
