Applause IT are hiring a skilled Backend Developer, strong with Node.js, TypeScript and GraphQL, on behalf of an industry leading travel company that delivers unique travel experiences across Europe.

With a focus on delivering innovative digital solutions and customer-first experiences, our client is dedicated to using technology to reimagine holidays and connect travellers to unique destinations and provide a seamless customer booking journey.

About You:

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role, with a strong command of TypeScript and Node.js.
• Familiarity with Git version control, alongside experience in unit testing and test-driven development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Desirable skills include experience with AWS, CI/CD, Redis caching, GraphQL, Jest or other unit testing frameworks, and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Redis.
• Collaborate with DevOps and frontend teams to deliver a smooth, engaging user experience that enhances the customer journey.
• Optimise API performance for speed and scalability, ensuring seamless functionality across digital platforms.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, contributing actively in code reviews and upholding best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh insights to continuously improve digital experiences.
