Senior Engineer

Due to recent project wins, the position of Senior Engineer has become available to join our growing team based in London.

Transport for London are one of Britain's key City Local Authorities, responsible for the city's infrastructure which includes Highways, Major Structures, Rail, River Transport, and supporting technology. Many of their assets are reaching their end-of-life status and require substantial remedials or full refurbishment. Additionally, TfL are keen to embrace modern technology to reduce carbon and energy requirements and deliver a sustainable, clean city. Costain, under a number of Frameworks, supports TfL in their expansion and sustainability and is one of their major providers. We are currently undertaking a number of feasibility and concept designs to support future developments.

This position has a competitive salary dependent on skills and experience, in addition to a fantastic benefits package including pension contribution matched up to 10%.

Role Requirements

1. Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
2. Professionally qualified or working towards.
3. Knowledge and experience of Highways Construction.
4. Knowledge and experience of highway structure repair and refurbishment.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. The ability to manage and control tasks.
7. Experience in some or all of the following:
1. Complex Traffic Management.
2. Working within logistically constrained areas - urban environments.
3. Knowledge and understanding of temporary works.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a good range of highways structures disciplines.
8. Willing to attend the team's project office in Central London with occasional visits to Client, Designer, and site.
9. Champions Sustainability Safety, Health, and Environment by putting personal safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do and helping the environment and communities to thrive.
10. Having integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way.
11. Must be customer-focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating, and meeting their needs.
