Enterprise Architect

As an enterprise architect within SSP Digital and Technology, you will be accountable for driving forwards the architecture capability. You will help create, nurture, and mature architectural understanding and value within the business.

SSP is transforming its technology landscape and driving digital as a core component of our strategy. Architecture is recognised as a core capability to support our ambition to unlock value through delivering great digital and technology solutions. As an enterprise architect, you will create a structured approach to managing our architecture assets and plans, tell the story of architecture throughout the business to help drive change, and embed an effective architecture governance model across the function.

Creating and managing an SSP capability and technology model will be a core part of the role. It is crucial that the complexity of a diverse, multi-brand, global operator can be distilled to allow for effective technology planning and decision-making; enterprise architecture will be a core pillar to this.

• You will spend a meaningful amount of time learning how the business ticks, seeking to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist and how digital and technology can help drive value. This will mean establishing and managing great relationships around the business and influencing the digital and technology agenda.
• You will own and drive the enterprise architecture plan determining priority and value proposition, aligning to the digital and technology strategy.
• You will be responsible for the creation and management of core enterprise architecture assets including our digital and technology principles, architecture reference models, and end-to-end architecture content for the function (e.g., as-is and to-be architecture mapping deliverables).
• You will help create and manage a set of architecture tools and frameworks including templates, blueprints, patterns, and standards.
• You will evangelise and innovate, bringing to life new digital and technology opportunities.
• You will influence and collaborate across the technology and broader business functions to problem-solve and support making key design decisions across our end-to-end architecture to help drive forward strategic programmes and initiatives.
• You will help structure and facilitate an architecture road mapping process as a core part of our strategic planning.
• You will coach and mentor solution architects to support embedding a high performing architecture team.
• You will be responsible for introducing the appropriate architecture governance across the digital and technology function.
• You will be a key member of the SSP architecture community and contribute to the continued shaping and development of the architecture practice.

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Solutions Architect.
• Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise architecture/solution architecture at enterprise scale.
• Retail and/or Food and Beverage experience preferable.
• Experience working with agile teams.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Ability to distil complex environments.
• Comfortable with ambiguity.
• Able to assess and understand end-to-end business processes and solutions.
