Data Architect

Data Architect is required for a European leader in cloud implementation, application development and managed services working within the Banking and Finance industry. We are looking for an experienced Data Architect, with hands-on delivery background and strong stakeholder management.

You will work in the cloud practice for the UK business, acting as a technology expert, mentor and team lead on client-facing projects as well as helping to improve the service offerings.

1. Duration: 6 Month Contract (extension)
2. Status: Inside IR35
3. Start Date: ASAP
4. Location: 1 day a week onsite in Edinburgh (travel cost will be expensed)

1. Database Management Systems (DBMS): Proficiency in various database systems like DB2, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
2. Data Modelling: Expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques.
3. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Knowledge of ETL processes and tools to integrate data from various sources into a data warehouse or other storage systems.
4. Data Warehousing: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies, including star and snowflake schema designs.
5. Big Data Technologies: Understanding of big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and tools like Hive, Pig, and HBase.
6. Data Integration: Ability to integrate data from disparate sources using middleware or integration tools as well as streaming capabilities such as Kafka.
7. Data Quality Management: Knowledge of data quality assessment and management techniques.
8. Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and the ability to implement data governance frameworks.
9. Metadata Management: Proficiency in managing metadata to document and trace data lineage.
10. Cloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud, and the ability to design data solutions in a cloud environment.
