Programme Director - Student Management (Enterprise Applications)

The Academic Registry is the Powerhouse of the University, working closely with students and staff to support key elements of the student journey. Led by the Academic Registrar, we offer an expert central service supporting students throughout their journey from enquiry to award, as well as providing University staff and external agencies with the management information needed for business planning and development.

The Programme Director is an exciting new leadership opportunity, created to lead a large scale, £20 million programme to deliver a new Student Record system for the University over the next 4 years. You will get a unique opportunity to lead one of our largest change programmes to date, and work with key stakeholders and leadership across the breadth of the organisation to ensure that the new system is aligned to the needs of our admissions, enrolment, assessment, graduation, curriculum management and student finance teams.

You will lead on the procurement and tender process, alongside building and scaling the resources for an effective change management function to ensure the programme implementation is delivered on time and to budget, and will work in partnership with the selected vendor, and the University Executive leadership team to ensure that critical decisions, priorities and risks are managed in the best interests of the University.

You will work closely with our Digital, Data and Technology function to ensure the new System integrates with other key systems and services critical to the operations of the University and the experience of our students and staff.

Experience

• Substantial proven experience of leading complex, large scale, Enterprise level SaaS implementation programmes
• Experience of writing impactful/successful committee/board papers or business cases
• A good technical understanding, with knowledge across enterprise applications, cloud technologies, integration and architecture
• Excellent understanding of business change management practices
• Significant experience of leading high-performing teams (direct and Matrix managed) to deliver at pace
• Extensive experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders and external partners to deliver and develop digital products and services.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organisation, whether non-technical or technical
• Experience of working within a Higher Education environment is desirable but not essential

• Competitive salary of £77,764 - £82,980 per annum, Dependent on experience
