Senior database engineer

Our client is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices and has been operating in the United Kingdom (UK) since 2001. This client has been dedicated to innovation and the development of trusted partnerships with its stakeholders, including telecom operators, businesses, consumers and government.

Contract: Permanent role

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct systems research and empirical studies on current and future data management and processing systems

- Analyze requirements for next-generation database storage and query processing engines

- Design, implement, and deploy core technical components for advanced data management and processing systems

- Explore and advance cutting-edge data management frameworks for both cloud and edge devices

Required Qualifications:

- Strong computer science background (PHD preferred)

- Experience with research methodologies

- System design and implementation skills

- Data-driven approach

- Proficiency in system-level programming languages like C/C++ or Rust

- Expertise in one or more relevant areas like database systems, distributed systems etc.

- Hands-on experience implementing components of a database management system or similar low-level system (e.g. operating systems, compilers)
