Head of QA Hybrid: 2 days a week in Manchester Salary: up to 65K A leading digital agency specializing in web development, digital marketing, and enterprise-level technology solutions is looking for a Head of QA to join their growing QA function. They provide a wide range of services, including digital transformation, cloud consultancy, UX design, eCommerce platforms, and CMS website development. With expertise in platforms like Drupal, Umbraco, and Shopify, helping businesses grow through strategic planning, data-driven insights, and creative digital solutions. They serve a diverse client base across sectors like travel, retail, government, and healthcare. What you'll be doing: - Leading a diverse team of six QA professionals, guiding them across Drupal, e-commerce, and .NET teams.
- Managing both hands-on testing and leadership responsibilities with a 50/50 split between manuel and automation.
- Developing and recommending testing approaches while communicating directly with clients on testing progress and strategies.
- Implementing automation software to streamline and improve testing processes.
- Manage billable project-driven work, ensuring the team delivers quality assurance within budgeted hours.
- Work closely with technical leads and collaborate with the CTO, offering input on improving testing strategies and team efficiency.
- Mentor team members, manage workloads, and support their professional development.
What you'll need: - 5+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Experience working with Magento, Drupal, or Umbraco in a QA capacity.
- Strong understanding of automation tools and how to integrate them into testing frameworks.
- Ability to manage a project-driven QA team with billable hours.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing diverse and international teams.
- Effective client-facing communication skills and the ability to articulate testing strategies and progress clearly.
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing.
